1. <\/b>Operations and achievements<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The University of Wollongong traces its origins to 1951 when a Division of the then New South Wales University of Technology was established in Wollongong. That institution grew and evolved, and in 1975 legislation was passed in the parliament of New South Wales, establishing the University of Wollongong as an independent institution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Originally established as a provider of technical education for engineers and metallurgists required for the region’s steel industry, the University now offers a wide range of courses across four faculties: Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities; Business and Law; Engineering and Information Sciences; Science, Medicine and Health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Univerity\u2019s success is reflected in global awards and rankings, where its graduates and teachers are recognised as some of the best in the world, and the University as a whole is ranked among the world’s top one percent. The University of Wollongong is ranked among the best 20 modern universities in the world in the QS Top 50 Under 50 Rankings 2021. The University is consistently ranked in the top 200 universities in the world for the quality of graduates by the 2022 QS Graduate Employability Ranking. The University graduates are well respected and are consistently ranked among the top one percent in the world by employers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The University of Wollongong has formal agreements with more than 400 overseas institutions, covering research collaboration, student and staff exchange, study abroad and program delivery. Its global connections are strengthened by the membership of the University Global Partnership Network (UGPN), which is focused on creating a foundation for international collaboration. This enables academics and students from some of the world\u2019s top universities to work together on issues of global importance.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. <\/b>Contents of Cooperation\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On the 6<\/span>th<\/span> day of May 2022, Foreign Trade University (FTU) and University of Wollongong (UOW) enter into the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the aim of cooperating on the activities of the FTU WTO Chair Programme. To accomplish this undertaking, this MOU seeks to facilitate the collaboration of the following activities:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

– Under Curriculum Development and Teaching pillar, UOW is committed to cooperating in the designing and teaching (if needed) of new short courses for private actors, new courses for postgraduate students.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Under Research pillar, WTI is willing to support relevant research projects under the FTU WTO Chair Programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Under Outreach activities pillar, UOW is committed to promoting and supporting events such as placing the link and logo of \u201cFTU WTO Chair\u201d on the website of UOW, facilitating Viet Nam International Trade (VIT) Forum organised by FTU, sending experts and\/or writing articles for seminar\/conferences (if needed).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
