1. <\/b>Operation and achievement<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The World Trade Institute was established in 1999 to train future practitioners and researchers from all over the world and to strengthen research capacities in the field of international trade and investment regulation. The WTI combined graduate-level education and interdisciplinary research in law, economics and political science, as well as specialized advisory services. The institute recruits students, researchers, faculty and employees from around the world, creating a diverse culture and stimulating environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

The WTI cooperates with leading universities and institutes through memoranda of understanding and collaborative projects, carrying out joint research and teaching programmes. Students pre-selected by the institute\u2019s partner universities benefit from a preferential tuition fee for the MILE and TRAIL+ programmes. In addition, the WTI has concluded new agreements with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), Tashkent, Uzbekistan and the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The WTI participated in local, national and international policy discussions and debates. It also regularly organized lectures in the context of the Global Economic Governance Seminar Series. These lectures were open to the public and attracted considerable attention. The WTI, together with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Centre for Development and Environment of the University of Bern (CDE), hosted a roundtable discussion on trade, climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals. Jointly with the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), two virtual events on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement were organized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Signing of MOU between World Trade Institute (WTI), University of Bern, Switzerland and the WTO Chairs Program at Foreign Trade University<\/span>2. <\/b>Contents of Cooperation\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

On the 6<\/span>th<\/span> day of May 2022, Foreign Trade University (FTU) and World Trade Institute (WTI) enter into the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the aim of cooperating on the activities of the FTU WTO Chair Programme. To accomplish this undertaking, this MOU seeks to facilitate the collaboration of the following activities:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

– Under Curriculum Development and Teaching pillar, WTI is committed to cooperating in the designing and teaching (if needed) of new short courses for private actors, new courses for postgraduate students.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Under Research pillar, WTI is willing to support relevant research projects under the FTU WTO Chair Programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Under Outreach activities pillar, WTI is committed to promoting and supporting events such as placing the link and logo of \u201cFTU WTO Chair\u201d on the website of WTI, facilitating Viet Nam International Trade (VIT) Moot organized by FTU, sending experts and\/or writing articles for seminar\/conferences (if needed).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
