The accession to the WTO in 2007 and participation in a series of next-generation free trade agreements since 2015 have elevated the country to become one of the world\u2019s top twenty economies and territories in terms of trade turnover.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The drivers of Vietnam\u2019s international trade growth over the past decades have largely relied on its inherent advantages, such as abundant natural resources and a low-cost labor force. However, the global, regional, and domestic trade landscapes are undergoing profound changes in the face of new challenges. In this new context, the traditional advantages that once propelled Vietnam\u2019s trade are gradually turning into constraints, affecting both the sustainability of the economy and the competitiveness of enterprises. This reality calls for a reassessment and adjustment of Vietnam\u2019s growth model, identifying new drivers of international trade growth to advance medium- and long-term national development objectives toward 2045.<\/p>\n
Base on this context, the Vietnam International Trade Forum (VFIT)<\/strong>, under the WTO Chair Program at Foreign Trade University, will be held for the second time with the theme: \u201cNew Drivers for Trade Growth in Vietnam\u2019 s Era of National Rising.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> The forum seeks to provide a multi-disciplinary dialogue platform among academics, policymakers, and the business community. The event is one of the flagship activities celebrating the 65th anniversary of Foreign Trade University.<\/p>\nVFIT 2 will be held from 07:45 to 12:00, Friday, October 10, 2025 at Conference Hall, VJCC Building, Foreign Trade University, 91 Ch\u00f9a L\u00e1ng, L\u00e1ng Ward, Hanoi, comprising three major components:<\/p>\n
\n- An academic forum including a keynote address, one roundtable discussion, and three parallel sessions;<\/li>\n
- A business exhibition;<\/li>\n
- The introduction of research projects on international trade under the WTO Chair Program at FTU, along with highlights of WCP-FTU activities in recent years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
VFIT 2 aspires to become a multi-dimensional bridge linking policymakers, the business community, and academia, thereby identifying new growth drivers to shape the future of Vietnam\u2019s international trade in the context of a rapidly shifting global landscape marked by green transformation, digitalization, and supply chain restructuring.<\/p>\n
