Following the series of activities within the framework of the WTO Chair Programme Phase III at Foreign Trade University (WTO Chair Program Phase III), on December 8, 2022, Foreign Trade University will organize a short-term training course on “Strengthening capacity for Vietnamese stakeholders in the implementation of international commitments on trade and investment“.
With the participation of leading experts from Government agencies (Ministry of Industry and Trade; Ministry of Planning and Investment), World Trade Organization and Foreign Trade University to be trainers, the course focuses on 6 following topics:
- Topic 1: Overview of some trade and investment agreements signed by Vietnam (WTO, CPTPP, EVFTA, RCEP);
- Topic 2: Taxes in international trade and investment;
- Topic 3: Technical measures and trade remedies in international trade (TBT, SPS, TradeMap, ePing, anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, safeguard);
- Topic 4: Investment facilitation (reform of administrative procedures, registration process,…);
- Topic 5: Investment policies, investment laws, and state-owned-enterprises regulations in some countries in the world;
- Topic 6: International investment dispute settlement.
Through 6 topics, students are not only provided with new knowledge or necessary skills in applying Vietnam’s international commitments on trade and investment, but also have the opportunity for further discussion with experts who have pratical and theoretical knowledge on relevant issues.
In particular, the trainees participating in the training course will be fully funded for the training costs and will be granted a Certificate of Course Completion.
The course will be started on December 8, 2022 and will take place in 3 days (from December 8 to 10), in two forms: online and in person at Foreign Trade University, No. 91 Chua Lang Street, Hanoi.
