As part of the second Vietnam International Trade Forum (VFIT), the WTO Chair Program at Foreign Trade University will also host the Press Release Ceremony of the Vietnam International Trade Report 2025—a strategic publication reflecting key trends, opportunities, and challenges of global trade for Vietnam. This event provides an opportunity for the drafting team to present the Report’s main findings to scholars, experts, institutions, and the media.
The Report has been developed with the objective of identifying and analyzing in depth four new cross-cutting growth drivers—emerging at the global level but materialized and coordinated at the national and enterprise levels.
The Report consists of 5 chapters which cover some main contents: An overview of these new drivers and emphasizes the role of the Enabling State – Centered Enterprises – Connecting Universities; Next-Generation Free Trade Agreements – Institutional Foundations for Comprehensive Integration; Digital Trade – Technological Drivers for Breakthrough; Sustainable Trade – Normative Drivers for Global Market Access; Global Value Chains – Structural Drivers for Vietnam’s Upgrading.
The Report concludes with a set of comprehensive, coordinated, and multi-tiered policy recommendations, calling for close collaboration among an Enabling State, Centered Enterprises, and Connecting Universities to transform external drivers into endogenous advantages. This approach is expected to enable Vietnam to make breakthroughs and assert its role as a high-value link in international trade in the new era.
