On February 19, 2025, the WTO Chair Program 2025 (WCP) officially kicked off at Foreign Trade University (FTU). This marks the final year FTU hosts the WTO Chair Program in Vietnam, concluding a meaningful journey in its mission to “enhance collaboration among industry stakeholders, academic institutions, and government agencies in implementing Vietnam’s commitments to the WTO and next-generation FTAs.”
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Vice President of FTU and Head of the Program Steering Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Huong, Chairholder of the FTU WTO Chair Program; Dr. Vu Kim Ngan, Co-Chairholder of the FTU WTO Chair Program; along with committee leaders and members.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Huong summarized the Program’s remarkable achievements in 2024 across its three key pillars: Research, Program Development, and Outreach Events. The WTO Chair Program at FTU not only surpassed its planned goals but also received strong support and active participation from various stakeholders.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong highly commended the program’s accomplishments, emphasizing its importance and positive impact on the university, organizations, businesses, and local communities. She particularly acknowledged the dedication and unity of the Program Management Board. As the WTO Chair Program enters its final year at FTU, she expressed her hope that all members would intensify their efforts to successfully conclude the WCP.
Dr. Vu Kim Ngan presented the 2025 activity plan, which includes 17 major events and 94 expected outputs. Key initiatives include international conferences, short courses for businesses and young lecturers, book exhibitions, and the publication of domestic and international research papers. The WCP will focus on expanding its impact and improving research quality.
On this occasion, outstanding members who contributed significantly to the Program in 2024 were honored. The WCP hopes that all members, particularly the younger generation, will continue to embrace innovation and creativity to ensure its ongoing success.
