Since joining the WTO in January 2007, Vietnam’s international economic integration process has achieved many positive results in expanding trade and investment relations with other members. Vietnam has also signed many free trade agreements, including new generation free trade agreements with in-depth commitments on trade and investment. Vietnam is considered a typical successful example of a country where liberalizing trade and investment effectively contributes to socio-economic development. However, facing recent international trade and investment challenges, Vietnam, a developing country with high openness, has been significantly impacted. This situation has placed higher requirements on research, policy making and training, capacity building of staffs (including policy makers, businesses, and other stake holders) as well as requires the enhancement of connection and cooperation between government agencies, research and training institutions and businesses. On such a basis and within the framework of the FTU WTO Chair Program, Foreign Trade University organizes an international workshop entitled “Strengthening governments, universities and businesses cooperation in the implementation of international commitments on trade and investment” to provide a forum for different stakeholders and interested participants to discuss, exchange knowledge and views on these issues.
The workshop is scheduled to be held in the afternoon of Friday, 4th November 2022, at Foreign Trade University, Hanoi campus and online via the Zoom platform. The workshop organizers cordially invite you to submit your paper (in Vietnamese or English) before October 17th, 2022 (details of topics and important dates are attached).
