TRAINING COURSE “DIGITAL TRADE IN THE NEW ERA: FROM REGULATIONS TO PRACTICE”

On April 11 and 12, 2025, the WTO Chair Programme at Foreign Trade University (WTO Chair Programme – WCP) organized the training course “Digital Trade in the New Era: From Regulations to Practice” at Foreign Trade University and Song Hong Resort.

The training course received great interest from relevant stakeholders. The enthusiastic response was clearly reflected in the number of registrations from representatives of 20 enterprises, 14 universities from the Northern and Central regions, as well as numerous state management agencies. These impressive numbers highlight the strong resonance of the digital trade topic in the current context.

The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong – Vice President of Foreign Trade University and Head of the Program Steering Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Huong – Vice Director of the Institute of International Economics and Business, Chairholder of the FTU WTO Chair Program; experts; WCP Management Board members; and all course participants.

In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong expressed her sincere gratitude to the experts who accompanied the WCP-FTU program and the enthusiastic participation of the learners. She also expressed her hope that the course would provide learners with both fundamental and advanced knowledge on digital trade, enabling them to identify and apply legal regulations into practice, and develop skills in managing and addressing issues related to digital trade.

During the two-day course, participants were introduced to various aspects of digital trade delivered by a lineup of experts:

  • Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung – Former President of the Vietnam E-Commerce Association
  • Dr. Ha Cong Anh Bao – Dean of the Faculty of Law, Foreign Trade University
  • Mr. Nguyen Tuong Quan – Authority of Information Security, Ministry of Public Security

Especially at the end of the course, participants joined an interactive session titled “Connection and Action in the Digital Trade Environment,” facilitated by Dr. Nguyen Thu Hang – Deputy Director of the FTU Innovation and Incubation Space, Foreign Trade University. This activity showcased the university’s commitment to innovation in both teaching and research. Additionally, an ice-breaking activity featuring short interactive games helped energize the classroom atmosphere, making it more vibrant and open.

Ice-breaking activities boosted interaction, helping participants quickly get acquainted and build a spirit of connection and collaboration.

At the end of the course, participants not only gained valuable new knowledge and essential skills in identifying digital trade issues but also had the opportunity to directly discuss real-world matters with experts.
